A man has died in a San Antonio hospital after being treated for a urinary tract infection (UTI), the state health department said Thursday.
The incident began when a man, who was not breathing, passed out from a UTI. A hospital spokesman said it was a small patient, but his condition was not serious. The man, who was not breathing, was treated for an enlarged prostate and was given Viagra tablets.
His symptoms included the infection and the pain in his abdomen. The health department said he had an IV fluid bag with a small pump, but did not feel sick. They said he took several antibiotics and pain medication to treat his UTI, but did not get any treatment.
He was referred to a hospital on Tuesday, where he was given antibiotics for an extended period of time, the hospital said.
The health department said they did not have enough information to recommend that the man be taken into hospital, but said he was still suffering from UTIs.
“While there is no definitive evidence to support the diagnosis of an UTI, it is possible that it was caused by an infection that was not adequately treated,” said health department spokeswoman Lorna Lue, in a statement.
The hospital said the man was still taking the antibiotic as prescribed by the health department. He was admitted to the hospital with UTIs and was given pain medication, nausea and vomiting, the hospital said.
The health department said the man had a “life-threatening” condition, which is considered life-threatening if not treated and requires emergency medical care.
“We cannot allow this to happen to a man who is suffering from a UTI, and we cannot allow this to happen to a man who is suffering from severe pelvic pain,” said Dr. Steven M. O’Connor, the health department’s chief of clinical services.
The UTI is a type of urinary tract infection that affects the urethra, a tube that runs from the penis to the bladder. Urine can be found in the bladder or the urethra, which is the tube that carries urine into the penis.
Doctors may recommend a lower dose of the medication or prescribe a lower dose of the drug that works to clear the infection completely.

“We do not know the exact reason why it was taken, but we do not have enough data to make a definitive decision on why it is taken,” said Lue in the statement. “We encourage everyone to seek the advice of their healthcare provider or physician if they have any questions about what could be wrong with their condition.”

That is why health department staff are responsible for the care of patients in all community hospitals, state health departments, and the state and local governments.

Lue, a health officer at the San Antonio Regional Hospital, said the man was not breathing, was not having an erection, and did not seem to be fidgeting. A hospital spokesperson said the man did not have an episode of urinary tract infection.
“The man was not fidgeting or anything,” Lue said. “He did not seem to be having any issues with his lifestyle.”
Health officials said the man’s symptoms were not serious enough to warrant hospitalization. They said the health department was not aware of his symptoms or any other medical condition that might be contributing to his UTI.
